My Client is an established and financially secure UK general insurer. They were founded 180 years ago. The Group has over 3 million customers spending nearly €6 billion in premiums every year. In the UK, their reputation is founded on a track record of consistent profitability, financial stability and reliability for over 50 years.

Role
Due to continued growth and success there is now a requirement to attract an excellent Research and Development Executive

Principal Accountabilities:

· To produce insightful, timely and actionable market information to inform and influence The Client’s strategy.
· To research the market, competitor and customers and provide competitive intelligence to inform and influence The Client’s strategy.
· To undertake research with the client proposition being central to its approach.
· To work closely with the Research and Product Development Manager in delivering The Client’s long term product development strategy.
· To be an innovative thinker.
· To have the drive and ambition to deliver effective product solutions.
· To administratively support the Research and Product Development Manager in achieving the future business objectives.
· Assist in identifying new market opportunities through research and assist in developing new product concepts for approval by Management.

Specific Responsibilities:

· Support the Research & Product Development Manager in collating, analysing and maintaining information on the UK General Insurance market providing management information, reports and presentations as required.
· Assist the Research & Product Development Manager with all aspects of the Product Lifecycle Management Process.
· Manage relationships with external service providers, as assigned by the Research & Development Manager, including the production and circulation of regular performance reports.
· Undertake research and analysis relating to our wider macro environment and the how it’s effects will assist in the development of new products, product enhancements or product re-fresh.
· To provide regular updates on the insurance market, competitor and customer insights using SWOT and PESTLEE analysis.
· Liaise and co-operate closely with all members of the Commercial Department and other colleagues throughout the company with respect to all aspects of this role.
· To ensure that our customers are treated in accordance with the principles of Treating Customers Fairly.
· To work co-operatively with colleagues to adopt an environmentally friendly culture within The Client and adhere to the Company’s green approach within the workplace.

Essential Skills:

· Knowledge of the insurance market including insurance products
· Sound experience gained within the insurance industry in particular from an underwriting, broking or product environment
· A proven track record in interpreting data for business use
· Analytical and numeric skills
· Strong communication skills both written and oral
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Good levels of accuracy and attention to detail

Essential Qualifications:

· Relevant professional qualification in market research and a good level of experience within this field
· Ideally CIM and ACII qualified or working towards
· PC Literate, with knowledge of word and excel.
